If you plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics at an NCAA Division I or II institution in 2009 or thereafter, you must have both your academic and amateurism status certified by the eligibility center before representing the institution in competition.

Academic

If you have never previously enrolled as a full-time student you must meet minimum academic standards in order to be eligible for practice, competition and athletics financial aid.

For example if you completed Year 12 in Victoria you need to have attained the Victorian Certificate of Education/VCE and Statement of Results. In order to meet core-curriculum requirements four of the five academic subjects (at least two years) must be English, mathematics, natural/physical science and social science.

Due to the unique nature of the Australian educational system, all annual grade reports/transcripts from year nine will need to be forwarded to the NCAA Eligibility Center along with those documents specifically listed below for each state and territory

If you are currently enrolled (or have previously been enrolled) as a full-time student at a university in a foreign country, you will be considered a transfer student after enrolling at an NCAA university.

SAT

All prospective student-athletes must also undertake the SAT and achieve a minimum SAT score on a test administered on an official testing date under standard testing conditions.

Amateurism

When you register with the eligibility center, you will be asked about benefits and activities that might impact your status as an amateur. The information you provide about your athletics participation will be reviewed and a determination will be made

Some of the pre-collegiate enrollment activities which will be reviewed are:
